Once you have reached the required level, you will need to talk to Surden in the spawn world. They will provide instructions on how to increase it, you must complete the requirements before you can ascend to the next rank (otherwise you will be stuck with your old rank until you do so and will not be able to level up any further).
Simply kill mobs, elite mobs, bosses players and events. These are the current only way of increasing your level, and so increasing your Rank.
